Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - On May 31, 2018, Puerto Vallarta will celebrate its Centennial as a municipality and 50th anniversary as a city, which presents a unique opportunity to offer residents and visitors a series of very special musical, cultural, culinary and sporting events all year long.
One such event is the Ruta Turistica Vallarta - Bahía de Banderas 2018.
Set to hit the road at 7:00 am on April 28, cyclists can choose from three different routes and distances that are suitable for both road and mountain bikes - a 30 kilometer ride to Nuevo Vallarta for beginners; a 60 km ride to La Cruz de Huanacaxtle for intermediate bikers in good physical condition; and a 100 km route to Punta Mita for the experts. All three routes start and finish at Marina Vallarta, are 100% paved, and have hydration stations and mechanical assistance along the way.
Registration fees are as follows:
Punta Mita Route (100k) - $450 pesos until April 14; $600 from April 15-27
La Cruz de Huanacaxtle (60k) - $250 pesos until April 14; $400 from April 15-27
Nuevo Vallarta (30k) - $200 pesos until April 14; $300 from April 15-27
Riders between the ages of 14 & 17, or over 60, pay just $200 pesos until April 14; $300 from April 15-27 on whichever route they choose.
Registration fees include: a Participant Kit that consists of a shirt and a commemorative medal, a participant number and entry in a raffle for a TREK Marlin 5 bicycle.
