"Dreaming of You," A Musical Tribute to Crossover Artist, Selena
Friday at 8:00 pm in The Red Room

Act II is proud to present an all-new tribute to the music of Selena, starring Latina celebrity singer Yudi Villamonte, mother of Act II's breakout star Diana Villamonte. Directed by Act II co-Artistic Director, Alfonso Lopez, "Dreaming of You" opened on June 1 with Yudi performing songs made famous by Selena in English & Spanish.

Selena Quintanilla-Pérez smashed musical boundaries and chart-topping records with her explosion onto the scene in the early 90's. Her beautiful voice and natural stage charisma earned the Texas-born Mexican-American beauty the nickname "Queen of Tejano Music," bringing national attention to a previously obscure musical genre.

Sadly, Selena's sudden tragic death left the world wondering what could have been with this powerhouse of a musical force, and left a void few could fill, until now.

Dreaming of You stars Yudi Villamonte, who was brought to fame in her home country of Panama, where she is known as the matriarch and the first lady of Villamonte musical dynasty. Well known in the paparazzi circuit, all the Villamonte women have been known to be chased down the street coming out of clubs and venues. The Panamanian paparazzi regularly go crazy trying to get a picture of the "First Musical Family" of Panama.

Wednesday at 8:00 pm in Encore Lounge

Us Two and their LIVE BAND

"Us Two," Daniel Celis and Noemi Plascencia (and their live band), continue to perform on Wednesday nights at 7:30 pm. Famous for "taking classics and bringing them to life," Vallarta has fallen in love with this dynamic and talented duo with their sexy styling, harmonious vocals and lively band.

The beautiful Noemi Plascencia is from Guadalajara and studied at the Conservatory of Music at the University of Guadalajara. The 'Oh-So-Handsome' Daniel Celis is from Cordoba, Veracruz and studied at the Conservatory of Music in Querétaro. Both Noemi and Daniel sang in various bands around Mexico, but in 2012, Noemi and Daniel discovered each other and melded their incredible talents, creating an amazing chemistry together.

Named this year's "Best Musical Group of the Season," Us Two has quickly become the #1 band in Puerto Vallarta, and they will be the new Resident Artists at ACT II next season!

The amazingly talented Diana Villamonte presents "Motown and Beyond!" a musical tribute to the great ladies of Motown, like Diana Ross, Shirley Bassey, Whitney Houston, Anita Ward, Etta James, Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin and Donna Summer.

This young lady is one of the most talented people that has ever crossed our stage! After a sold-out preview of her show this past summer, she was described as "powerful, charming, beautiful, stunning, polished, mesmerizing and stunning." She blew the audience away with her huge vocals and passionate interpretations, and she grabbed the audience and never let go.

Thursday, June 14th also happens to be Diana's 23rd birthday, and we will be celebrating as only Act II can! This is the time of year when everyone here at Act II slows down to catch our breath just a little bit. All of our shows for next season have been cast, and we are in "full rehearsal mode" to allow us plenty of time to prepare.
