Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Responding to community interest, the Oficina de Proyectos Culturales (OPC) is excited to launch a new annual exhibition that focuses solely on new works by local artists. The 'All Inclusive' show celebrates the art makers who live here in Puerto Vallarta, and everyone is invited to participate!
Each year OPC will invite a different curator or artist to serve as the project coordinator and we are honored that David Allen Burns and Austin Young of Fallen Fruit will serve as this year's curators.
"We are interested in the idea of the public, citizenship, community, and how everyday people are poets and scribes and artists and documentarians as much as they are strangers, neighbors, and friends," say the artists of Fallen Fruit.
The exhibition will focus on art related to Puerto Vallarta: it's history, urban issues, problems and solutions; nevertheless, every piece will be received and exhibited, no matter the theme and discourse, as long as it fits the following characteristics:
• The theme and technique of every work is entirely open
• Is a two-dimensional artwork
• Format should be horizontal tabloid size (30.5 cm high x 45.7 cm width)
• Technical details must be included: Artist name, title, date, and medium
Participate by delivering your work of art to the OPC by September 15th. Located at Juarez #598 at the corner of Aldama in downtown Puerto Vallarta, the Office for Cultural Projects is open Wednesday through Friday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and on Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The 'All Inclusive' exhibition will be inaugurated on Wednesday, September 19 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, and remain on display at the OPC through Saturday, September 29, 2018.
