Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - On Saturday, September 22, volunteers from the Puerto Vallarta, Flamingos and Sayulita, Nayarit branches of Intercam Bank, accompanied by their families and friends, celebrated International Coastal Cleanup Day 2018 by removing trash from Banderas Bay beaches.
That morning, almost 100 volunteers were met by the Intercam Bank team's leaders who, for the second year in a row, led the teams in the cleaning of approximately 3 kilometers of beach in Litibú, Nayarit. By the time they were finished more than 60 kilos of garbage had been collected.
In addition to contributing to the conservation of our natural environment, this activity promotes environmental awareness, encourages everyone to participate in keeping our beaches and coastline clean, and teaches children how their environmental footprint impacts our community and the world.
Keeping the Banderas Bay region's beaches clean not only improves the destination's image with tourists, but also improves the quality of life for those of us who live here, making it a shared responsibility. The Vallarta-Nayarit Intercam Bank team invites everyone to join in their efforts next year on the third Saturday of September, International Coastal Cleanup Day 2019.
