Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico - Set to be held on the Marina Nuevo Vallarta Malecón from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Saturday, December 1, 2018, the Vallarta Yacht Club's 6th Annual Taste of Nuevo Vallarta and 18th Annual Chili Cook-off offers attendees two events in one!

Started in December 2000, the Great Chili Cook-off began in the Vallarta Yacht Club parking lot as a way to get cruisers "cooking for a cause" - the event drew chili cookers from all over Banderas Bay to offer their best chili and raise money for local charities.

In 2013, the event was moved to the Marina Nuevo Vallarta Malecón and chefs from some of the finest restaurants in Nuevo Vallarta joined forces with chili-cooking locals to offer tastes of their best dishes to attendees.

Ever since, the Chili Cook-off/Taste of Nuevo has be one of the most popular annual events in the Banderas Bay area, often generating thousands of dollars for local charities.

This year, attendees may purchase sample tickets for a set price (last year, they were 30 pesos each.) Each ticket is good for a "taste" of chili or any of the other type of food offered, a bottled water, soda, beer, wine or Margarita.

All proceeds from ticket sales will be evenly split between the International Friendship Club's Cleft Palate Program and the Vallarta Navy League's Toys for Tots.
