Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The Ruach Singers, an eight-voice professional Jewish a cappella group from Toronto, Canada, joins forces with the Puerto Vallarta Chamber Orchestra for one night only, Friday, February 8, 2019, 8:00 pm, for the "Spirited!" concert at the auditorium of Paradise Village, Av, Paseo de los Cocoteros Nº 67, Nuevo Vallarta (next to Hospital San Javier).
This is the first ever collaboration between these two esteemed ensembles. The orchestra will play the first half of the concert and the Ruach Singers will perform the second half, followed by a finale, featuring the singers and orchestra together.
The Ruach Singers are conducted by Aaron Jensen, an internationally-published composer, arranger and performer. His works have been performed across North and South America, Asia, Europe, and Australia. Aaron's music is played on radio stations worldwide. He has performed, toured and recorded with many award-winning ensembles.
Since its inception in 2005 as a small ensemble, the Puerto Vallarta Chamber Orchestra (PVCO) has grown to be a full-sized orchestra, the only community orchestra in the Banderas Bay Area. The PVCO is a multicultural, cross-generational group that houses local and international musicians with over 40 artists from +10 countries all joining their talent to produce the highest level of formal music in Puerto Vallarta. The PVCO will perform a collection of Mexican pieces and dances by Bernal Jimenez and Manuel Enriquez, and Camille Saint-Saëns's symphonic poem Danse Macabre.
All profits from PVCO performances go directly back to IAM PV (Instituto de Artes Musicales Puerto Vallarta), a non-profit music education institute dedicated to bringing concerts and musical instruction to the younger generations.
Tickets for "Spirited" can be ordered online at iampv.org or purchased at the door. Prices are: 450 pesos for VIP seating, 350 pesos for General Seating, and 100 pesos for students.
