Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - Bringing more than 60 world class professional tennis players from all over the world to PV, the second edition of the Puerto Vallarta Open, an ATP Challenger Tour Tournament, will take place from April 29th through May 5th at Parque Parota in the city's Hotel Zone.

After being named one of the Challenger Tour Tournaments of the Year for 2018, the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust and the tournament organizing committee have joined forces to ensure that the 2019 Vallarta Open not only maintains the quality and prestige achieved last year, but also to surpass the results obtained in the first edition.

With $135,400 USD up for grabs, (up from $75,000 USD in 2018), the Puerto Vallarta Open is one of the few international tennis tournaments that have increased their purse this season. The city is betting on the 2019 PV Open, and the bet is clear: it seeks to summon the best tennis players in the circuit (ATP Challenger Tour), raise the level of play, and achieve position as one of the world's best destinations for Challenger tournaments.

The 2019 tennis tournament will be played, for the second consecutive year, on the outdoor hard courts at Parota Park, an ideal venue as it is located at the main entrance to downtown Puerto Vallarta, and just 15 minutes from the Malecón.

It is important to mention that, starting this year, the "singles" category will increase from 32 to 48 players, which will significantly modify the programming of games during the tournament week. This aspect adds to the participation, the competition, and the public's delight. All tennis matches start at 12:00 noon and run all day until late evening.
