Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The Rehabilitation Clinic of Puerto Vallarta – Santa Bárbara, was awarded $57,043 pesos by the supermarket chain Soriana, who during the months of March and April of this year, invited their clients to "Round Up" the change from their grocery purchases for donations to the clinic.

Gloria Elideth Torres García, operational director of this clinic, said that all of the money that was given to them will be used to grant physical rehabilitation services to low-income people with motor disability problems.

She emphasized the clinic's need for this support, saying, "when one of your loved ones has a disability, it is expensive to care for it, and thanks to these donations, we can provide many people who need physical therapy with free services."

Torres Garcia said that currently the clinic serves about 65 people per day and of these, more than 50% are exempt from payment or subsidized, for which she thanked the Soriana grocery chain's five participating stores, their employees, and their customers who donated, for helping the clinic and similar institutions continue the important work they do to help those who need it most.

According to Garcia, despite what many people believe, these "round up" campaigns are not a scam, they are real, and they help local institutions that need the community's support. She encouraged the people of Puerto Vallarta to continue supporting the 'Redondeo' (round up at checkout) program, since it makes the work of many local institutions possible.

She reiterated that the money received from Soriana's latest round-up campaign will allow the Clinica de Rehabilitacion Santa Bárbara to support those people who do not have the resources to pay for their physical and psychological therapies.

Clinica de Rehabilitación de Vallarta - Santa Bárbara, is located one block off the main highway, directly east of Plaza Peninsula, close to the cruise ship terminal, at Calle Mike Lemus 151 in Colonia Los Cajos.
