Oscar Terrazas A Touch of Jazz
Whether playing with Alberto or Raul, the pure sweet sounds of Oscar Terrazas' saxophone add a touch of jazz to the live music played on Tuesday through Saturday nights at La Palapa's beachside bar. The oldest of three brothers, Oscar grew up under the influence of his father - a professional drummer - who introduced him to the world of music. Through him, Oscar was introduced to the music of Ted Heat, Les Elquit, Benny Goodman, Stanley Turrentine, Ray Conniff and many others who have influenced him throughout the years.
Under these influences Oscar started his musical career at the age of 10, ultimately graduating from the National School of Music in Mexico City. Oscar has worked with international artists Charlie Masso, Ana Juhnel and Alejandro Fernandez, as well as most of the popular musicians who have performed in Puerto Vallarta over the last five years.
Oscar's work is featured on Raul Simental's album Rio a Mar as well as on many other albums recorded in Mexico City's top studios. He is currently recording a cd of original music featuring his talents on the keyboards. His goal is to make his music the best it can possibly be and to share his talents with the world.
