Mexico to Offer More to Cruise Passengers in Puerto Vallarta CaribeInside
| The Mexican cruise industry put good numbers on the board last year with a 30 percent increase in passenger volume. | Puerto Vallarta - Mexico´s Tourism Department (SECTUR) has stressed its commitment to strengthen services and products being offered to cruise passengers that swing by Puerto Vallarta by relying on the many commercial opportunities this lovely city has to offer.
For Mexico, a country that ranks among the world´s top cruise destinations, this particular industry opens an enormous window of opportunity, said Oralia Rice, undersecretary of tourism planning at SECTUR.
"Mexico grabbed 60 percent of the 10.5 million cruise passengers that sailed around the world last year," Mrs. Rice added. "The Mexican Caribbean continues to be the most sought-after region in the country with over a third of the total, while the Mexican Riviera (Pacific Coast) snared 32 percent of the tally."
The Mexican cruise industry put good numbers on the board last year with a 30 percent increase in passenger volume, a 15 percent spike in cruise arrivals, and a 21 percent hike in revenues. |
