Local Chef Wins Culinary Excellence Award PVNN
| The prize was presented to Chef Ruiz by the Regional Vice President of Operations of the Area Vince Salaverri; Mexico, Central and South America Area Vice President, Alex Stadlin; Director of Food and Beverages for Marriott International, Mark French; and Brad Nelson, Corporate Chef for Marriott International. | On July 25, Vince Salaverri, Marriott International Regional Vice President of Operations for Mexico, Caribbean and Latin America awarded the Marriott 2005 Culinary Excellence Award to Fred Ruiz, Executive Chef of the CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort.
In an award ceremony held in Puerto Vallarta, the prize was presented to Chef Ruiz by the Regional Vice President of Operations of the Area Vince Salaverri; Mexico, Central and South America Area Vice President, Alex Stadlin; Director of Food and Beverages for Marriott International, Mark French; and Brad Nelson, Corporate Chef for Marriott International.
Some of the elements that were considered for the awarding of the 2005 Culinary Excellence prize were: scores in the guests opinion survey (Ruiz and the CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta had the highest scores in the region), participation in different gastronomical festivals, creativity in the presentation of dishes, food quality and hygiene.
Fred Ruiz has worked for the Marriott Hotel chain for over 20 years, and came to work at the CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort in June of 2003. Since that time, through his commitment and dedication, the hotel's Food and Beverage Department has received the highest degree of recognition by the Marriott International Council of Standards for two consecutive years.

El pasado 25 de julio, Marriott International Región México, Caribe y Latinoamérica reconoció a Fred Ruiz, Chef Ejecutivo de CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort, con el Premio de Excelencia Culinaria 2005. Este premio fue presentado por Vince Salaverri, Vicepresidente Regional de Operaciones del Área, Alex Stadlin, Vicepresidente de Área México, Centro y Sudamérica, Mark French, Director de Alimentos y Bebidas para Marriott Internacional y Brad Nelson, Chef Corporativo Marriott International.
Algunos de los elementos que se consideraron para la entrega del premio fueron: puntaje en la encuesta de opinión de huéspedes (el mas alto de la región), participación en diferentes festivales, creatividad en la presentación de platillos, calidad e higiene en los alimentos y renovación del Distintivo H.
Fred Ruiz forma parte de la cadena de Hoteles Marriott desde hace más de 20 años y llegó al resort de Puerto Vallarta en junio de 2003.
