Puerto Vallarta Zoo Opens in Mismaloya PVNN
| Angel Claude, Geraldine Bazan, and members of the Chivas USA soccer team were just some of the stars that visited Puerto Vallarta for the grand opening of the Vallarta Zoological Center, which they helped establish through their support and sponsorship. | Puerto Vallarta - On September 15, during the Mexico Independence Day festivities, Puerto Vallarta was the scene of a grand event in which a brilliant cascade of stars and personalities adorned our beautiful city while attending the grand opening of the Vallarta Zoological Center, which they helped establish through their support and sponsorship.
In celebration of the big event, the Castañeda Jiménez family; Antonio, Martin, Luz Maria, Rosy, Soledad, Martha and Marychuy, Mexican business owners from San Antonio Tx, Fresno Ca, Denver Co, San Jose Ca, Phoenix Az, and Chicago Il, traveled to Puerto Vallarta for the inauguration of the Puerto Vallarta Zoo, which is located on the family's property in Mismaloya.
The Castañeda Jiménez family has always been recognized for their noble efforts in ecological conservation and their diligent endeavors in the protection of animals. Now, thanks to the creation of this recreational center, they will be providing employment to hundreds of people, thereby adding contributing to the welfare of Puerto Vallarta area families to their list of altruistic efforts.
The Puerto Vallarta Zoo's inauguration ceremony was a star-studded affair that was attended by movie stars and famous television actors including, Ana Luisa Peluffo; Geraldine Bazan; Patricia Rivera accompanied by her son Rodrigo Fernández; Antonlin Gomez; Jesús Cuellar, the Texan; and child actor Angel Claude, who are all official zoo sponsors.
Many famous sports personalities will also function as zoo sponsors. Among the sports personalities who attended the grand opening was Oswaldo Sánchez, goalkeeper for the Chivas de Guadalajara soccer team, who donated a white tiger to the Puerto Vallarta Zoo. And the illustrious list of distinguished guests and sponsors just kept growing over the course of the inaugural weekend.
Also in attendance were soccer player and world championship athlete, Oscar Ruggeri, accompanied by his family from Argentina; Omar Blanco, Jaime Duran and Eduardo Medina, notable members of the Atlas soccer team; Daniel Osorno, also a member of the Atlas team who played in the Mexican Select; Johnny García and Héctor Reynoso, both of whom play for the Las Chivas de Guadalajara soccer team; Nacho Vázquez, representing the great sport of football; and Jesús Corona, Mexican Select player and member of the Tecos team.
This is not the first time that the Puerto Vallarta Zoo has been visited by renowned celebrities and famous stars. Just recently, the zoo's land was used during the filming of some of the sequences for the movie "La Hacienda del Terror," which will premiere in November. And everyone knows that the Hollywood blockbuster "The Predator" was filmed between Chinos Paradise and El Eden, which is the exact location of the Vallarta Zoo.
The initial phase of the Zoological Center of Vallarta, which opened to the public on September 15, covers five hectares of land. Project developers are planning to extend the property to cover a total of 84 hectares and estimate that the completed project will take 10 years to complete. When this gigantic project is finished, the recreational center will include a water park, a cable railway, an amusement park and rental cabins. These new sections will be opened to the public as soon as the construction of each new segment has been completed.
Among the many animals to be found at the zoo are Mexican wolves and white tigers, both of which are in danger of extinction. But thanks to the protection, care and superb quality of life provided by the zoological center, it is expected that they will soon begin to reproduce in captivity, thus contributing to the preservation of the species.
The imagination, good will and entrepreneurial spirit of the Castañeda Jiménez family is reflected in all its splendor in this amusement center of colossal proportions. Not only will it provide a safe place for animals in danger of extinction, but it will also give Puerto Vallarta an additional attraction that no tourist, nor resident, should miss.
El Zoológico de Vallarta is an 100% Mexican owned private investment business that was built for the pleasure and enjoyment of our city's residents and the hundreds of thousands of tourists that come from all over the world to the magical, romantic and always beautiful city of Puerto Vallarta.
