Puerto Vallarta - All golfers, professionals, amateurs, men and women [with or without handicaps,] are invited to participate in the third annual Make-a-Wish Golf Scramble, scheduled to take place at the beautiful Flamingos Golf Course on January 28th.

This popular charity golf tournament will be conducted as a 4 ball scramble, and is open to the first 120 golfers (30 teams of four) to sign up in the following team categories:

• Los Jovenese - for golfers that play better than most, or don't fit in anywhere else
• Las Jovenese - all women teams
• Las Mezcales - Mixed teams (must have at least one women player)
• Los Viejos - old guys or gals that have a combined age of over 220

For those unfamiliar with the term "4 ball scramble," this means everyone tees off and the team captain chooses the drive the team will play, then all players continue to play from this point. The same procedure is followed for subsequent shots until the ball is "holed out" and scores are recorded.

As in past years, the third annual Puerto Vallarta Make-a-Wish Golf Scramble will begin at 9 am with a shotgun start. After the tournament, cocktails will be served at 7 pm, followed by dinner at 8 and the awards ceremony at 9 pm.

During the awards ceremony, trophies will be given to each team player of the three winning teams. Merchandise and cash prizes will be awarded to the players who were closest to the pin on all par 3's, and the first player to make a "Hole In One."

Individual fees are $150 USD for dinner and golf tournament participation. Registration is open until the limit of 120 golfers has been reached, or whenever the first ball of the tournament is hit, whichever comes first.

If you're not a golfer, but want to join in the celebration - and support a worthy cause - you can purchase a "Dinner Only" ticket for just $50 USD. For more information, contact Make-a-Wish representative Bob Mandel at 221-6212 or send an email to bob@makeawishmexico.org.
