Puerto Vallarta Mayor Looks Towards the Future PVNN
| Not one to cruise on last year's accomplishments, Mayor Gustavo Gonzalez Villaseñor expressed his confidence that Puerto Vallarta will continue to grow and prosper in 2006. | Puerto Vallarta - During his 2005 annual municipal administration report, Mayor Gustavo Gonzalez Villaseñor expressed his confidence that Puerto Vallarta will continue to grow and prosper in 2006.
Before the General Assembly of the City Council, numerous special guests, government dignitaries and Puerto Vallarta citizens, Villaseñor expressed his confidence that next year will see the implementation of many new projects for the good of the families and the well being of the people of Puerto Vallarta.
"Puerto Vallarta has grown very rapidly as result of its many tourist attractions and the beauty with which nature has gifted this region, as well as the many opportunities for growth that arise every day in this municipality," he said.
Recounting all of the accomplishments made under his administration in 2005, he remarked, "All of the improvements that were made in 2005 were achieved through the joint efforts of many hands, the work of many people, and especially, the support of the citizens of Puerto Vallarta."
He pointed out that the improvements made in 2005 "are more meaningful when they are shared," therefore he thanked Puerto Vallarta for "all that has been accomplished and for what we are going to achieve for the good of the community - because we cannot stop, because Vallarta demands it, and most importantly, because we must continue ahead, far into the future."
After Municipal DIF President Gloria Cordova de Gonzalez gave the annual report of local activities and programs, the mayor proposed channeling and orientating creative activities of our community with intelligence in 2006.
"Together, we can lead society into understanding that education is the basis of prosperity, that art and culture are a means of expressing the principles and values, customs and traditions that identify us; that sports and other community programs support our children and youth, leading to better health and improving every other aspect of a productive life."
"I have faith that in 2006, the last year of my term, Puerto Vallarta will see the culmination of our pursuits, which will take us into new stages of improvement, for the good of our families, and the well-being of our people" he added.
According to Villaseñor, "The noble work of governing entails intense and profound effort, based on generosity and justice, in a task where intelligence, prudence and courage are indispensable tools." |
