Second Annual Puerto Vallarta Dog Show PVNN
| Second Annual Puerto Vallarta Dog Show | Puerto Vallarta - Last weekend went to the dogs as over 5,000 spectators attended the 2nd Annual Puerto Vallarta Dog Show organized by the Patronato de Control de Mascotas y Fauna Silvestre AC, who work "for the well-being, respect and affection of all creatures."
Over 300 canines from Puerto Vallarta and the Banderas Bay area got to strut their stuff at the Sports Stadium on February 25th and 26th, as they competed for "Top Dog" status in competitions for agility, grace and beauty.
Other pets earned a little fame and recognition in contests for "the dog that looks the most like its owner," the most obedient canine, and the funniest pooch. And though the audience had a tough time judging, there were some obvious favorites.
In support of the on-going work of the local Animal Shelter, which provides care to abandoned animals, dog trainers from Hollywood and Guadalajara offered spectators an entertaining demonstration of well-trained dogs performing remarkable tricks, obedience skills and agility on obstacle courses, as well as guard dog presentations.
Overall, the 2nd Annual Puerto Vallarta Dog Show was a huge success, and organizers hope to see the show grow in size every year. All of the money collected from admission fees were donated to the Animal Shelter of Puerto Vallarta, where you can adopt a pet every Thursday between 10 am and 2 pm.
