Lopez Obrador Calls for New Republic Prensa Latina
| Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador | The opposition leader Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador who is visiting the Mexican state of Yucatan called for citizens of that region to attend the construction of a new republic.
He also invited them to register themselves as representatives of the social movement he leads through the units established in every municipality.
He recalled that a TV program will be broadcast weekly dealing with issues of national interest.
"Many things will be tackled there like price increase of milk, dairy, diesel oil, gas, electricity, premium gasoline and others," added the ex presidential candidate.
The program is directed by filmmaker Luis Mandoki and aimed at giving attention to poor people and committing President Felipe Calderon to fulfil his social commitments.
He reiterated that his social movement is focused on the struggle against poverty and inequality, against corruption and impunity and the defense of the national patrimony particularly the energy resources.
He also hopes to found the republic again trough major State reform.
On his three days in Yucatan Lopez Obrador will visit the Municipalities of Chapab, Akil, Tzucacab, Tahdziu, Peto, Tekax and Tixmeauc Obregon this Saturday. |
