(Susana Gonzalez/AFP) | The presence of Colombian drug assassins in Mexico to train their peers in this country was confirmed on Saturday by the newspaper El Universal, which quoted intelligence sources.
Reports from the United States and Colombia say that those individuals' work consists of recruiting and training new "gunmen" for the drug cartels.
One of the documented cases involves Colombian Army Lieutenant (R) Edgardo Hernandez, also known as K6, who was a hired assassin for the Cali cartel run by the Rodriguez Orejuela brothers, the newspaper added.
El Universal mentioned a report from the US Drug Enforcement Agency, according to which the Colombian assassins are still operating with a low profile in Mexico, especially in Sinaloa, Veracruz, Michoacan, Guerrero, Tamaulipas, Nuevo Leon and Mexico City. |
