| General Manager Dennis Whitelaw addressed the attendees during the Grand Opening | In recent months the public has seen the word Spa added to the CasaMagna Marriott Resort name, located in the Marina area of Puerto Vallarta. On Tuesday, July 24th, Marriott General Manager Dennis Whitelaw and his staff officially presented the new OHTLI Spa to the public. Close to two hundred people attended the Cocktail Party and were entertained by rich Indian culture to bless the facility moments before the ribbon cutting. Following the ribbon cutting groups of ten to fifteen had small personal tours of Vallarta's newest and most luxurious spa.
The Spa staff lined the stairs on both side prior to the official ribbon cutting and there were over 30 individuals that are working at OHTLI to pamper you.
The luxurious spa, managed by Roselia Flandes offers all types health and body treatments in traditional Marriott fashion. The Spa has a number of intimate and luxurious rooms for more types of massage than one can image. Just the names of the massages that are in their categories makes anyone want to spend a few hours in bliss and come out feeling perhaps years younger.
There is a category of "Touch Therapies" that are different types of massage, ranging from 25 minutes to 80 minutes and carry names such as "Yelapa Touch Therapy, Coco-Lima Effleurage, Piña-Mango Firming, Rebirth Therapy".
The Fire Opal Balancing Stone Therapy, and 80 minute massage is described as follows:
"The dramatic Mexican Fire Opal is said to stimulate circulation and provide energy during stressful times. This session begins with a traditional Huichol enslamo (incantation) for peace. The therapist then "cleanses" your body and spirit, through placement of healing fire opals. As the opals transfer their positive energy through your body, the therapist uses smooth warm basalt stones to provide a deeply relaxing massage. The combination of therapies and sensations will at once clear the mind and relax the body."
The next group offered is the Body Treatments, most 50 minutes long that offer 13 different treatments utilizing natural to the tropical area ingredients and then some. How about a "Piña-Cocoa Abrigo Dulce" or a "Honey Hibiscus Cocoon?" Ingredients in other body treatments include lemon-basil, Agave syrup, sea salt, grapefruit mango, chocolate, champagne and roses, among others.
In the IYARI Suite, couples can find body, soul and mind treatments that range from two to five hours. Descriptions of these and all other treatments are available at the OHTLI Spa and I would suggest picking one up in advance to decide how you plan to indulge yourself.
There is also a Salon that does everything with nails, hair, make up and waxing that one could believe possible. Not to leave out the youngsters, OHTLI also offers a Kids Spa.
There is much more to the spa than just massages and body treatments. There is a fully equipped gym that includes state of the art equipment for weight lifting and training as well as stair climbers, bicycles, treadmills and other cardio machines. Life Fitness machines are the most common in the gym area. There is also an aerobics room and a room for bicycles for spinning classes. In a separate room there is a lap pool that has Jacuzzi jets only on one side.
Our groups kept moving on from area to area and we stopped at the wind down area that offers two large Jacuzzis, along with a fashionable, modern and large dry sauna and steam rooms. There is also a polar plunge which will get the heart pumping after coming out of the hot rooms and into the close to freezing plunge. There are also an ample amount of lounge chairs to relax after the battle with the extreme temperatures. By the way, this was only on the men's side of the spa.
In all I counted eleven separate personal and separate massage rooms, each elegant and rich in Indian culture and décor.
For more information or scheduling, one can call the OHTLI Spa at (52) 322-226-0000, extension 6244. Better than that I would suggest going to the Marriott and asking for your own tour of the facility and a menu of services and price list. |
