Mexican First Lady Margarita Zavala
Mexico City - Mexican First Lady Margarita Zavala said the US Congress rejection of emigration reform will boost illegal emigration of Mexican children to the US, and at times their subsequent deportation without parents.

Zavala led a meeting in Hermosillo, Sonora, of the Comprehensive Family Development System (DIF) to coordinate strategies for children repatriated by the US Border Patrol without their parents.

Zavala warned officials from cities sharing borders with the US caught in the attempt to cross the border illegally and called for national involvement.

Among major threats to these children, the DIF President in Sonora Lourdes Laborin complained of robbery, rape and abduction by organ and sexual traffickers.

She added that 2005 statistics say 4.7 million children were evicted from the US without parents.
