Chivas Soccer Team Helps Make Wishes Come True

When MAKE-A-WISH Mexico contacted Carlos (18), Jose Manuel (6) and Diego (16) who have cancer and asked them in private interviews what their most important wish was, they all said "To Meet Las Chivas!"
So we all started working on this, contacting everyone and preparing what would be required to make their wish come true.
And it all happened quite soon, our three brave kids were asked to be at the Crowne Plaza Hotel World Trade Center in Mexico City to have a very special dinner, but of course they were looking forward to knowing why there and why at that time.
After their delicious dinner was over, all their questions were answered... this great soccer team showed up! One by one, they were all coming through the door...on our kid's faces we could all see what this meant to them. It will be a moment we will never forget, nor will their families.
Besides this great surprise, they were also given what their second wish was: Carlos got a laptop donated by one of our volunteers, Elynor. Jose Manuel got the official Chivas Bike and Carlos a PlayStation 3 donated by Antonio Cacheux, purchasing manager of MARTI.
The kids were taking pictures, asking for autographs, and talking to the Chivas soccer players. What a great time they had! Being with their team was what they have all dreamed about!
Carlos lives in Cuautla, Morelos, so he was invited by the Marriott Hotel to stay with his mom and enjoy what we prepared for him. He was treated as a very special guest. He was also invited to have lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe Mexico, where the music, the service and everything was fantastic!
And if you think this was the end of the story... you're wrong! Mr. Antonio Cacheux gave all of the boys tickets to go to the stadium and see their favorite team, Las Chivas, playing against Los Pumas.
Thanks to everyone who worked together, our three kids had the chance to forget about their illnesses for a while and enjoy these great surprises. We wish to express our warmest thanks to all who helped us make a difference in the lives of these special young men:

El Deseo de Tres Valientes Caballeros: Conocer a las Chivas

Cuando la Fundación Make-A-Wish Mexico se acercó a Carlos de 18 años, José Manuel de 6 y Diego de 16, quienes padecen Cáncer; y les preguntamos por separado cual era su mayor deseo los tres tuvieron una sola visión: "Conocer a las Chivas."
Después de muchos preparativos de todos los involucrados, nuestros tres valientes jóvenes fueron citados para tener un día muy especial; si bien no sabían qué sucedería todos fueron muy emocionados al hotel Crowne Plaza, en el World Trade Center, Ciudad de México.
Cenaron deliciosos platillos y pastel, invitados por el Crowne Plaza, quien no paró de consentirlos. Los chicos miraban ansiosos el reloj, por fin llegó la hora, las puertas del salón se abrieron delante de ellos, uno a uno fueron desfilando sus mayores ídolos y saludándolos personalmente. Sus caritas brillaban y sus ojos se iluminaban como solo sucede cuando estamos frente de algo muy especial y querido para nosotros.
No pudiendo creer lo que pasaba y teniendo a los jugadores enfrente la emoción no pudo ser mayor para todos. Que felicidad cuando el propio equipo les entregó a cada uno, la segunda cosa más anhelada para ellos: a Carlos, una laptop donada por Elynor, voluntaria de MAW, a Jose Manuel, no solo la bicicleta roja que pedía, sino la Bicicleta Oficial de las Chivas y a Diego el Play Station que tanto quería para entretenerse en sus días difíciles. Estos dos últimos donados por Antonio Cacheux, Gerente General de compras de Martí.
Los chicos se tomaban fotos con todos los que podían, pedían autógrafos, miraban incrédulos a cada uno con unas sonrisas que contagiaban a los asistentes. Que emoción parta ellos respirar el mismo aire que Chivas y tenerlos tan cerquita que podían tocarlos; que felicidad recibir los regalos que su familia no podría darles y que alegría estar rodeados de tantas personas que con tanto cariño organizaron esto para ellos.
Carlos, quien vive en Cuautla, adicionalmente fue invitado del hotel Marriot, Ciudad de México y comió en el Hard Rock Café Ciudad de México, quienes lo trataron como un príncipe y lo hicieron sentir muy especial.
Y si creen que se terminó, ¡aún no!, nos falta contarles que cada uno recibió del Sr. Antonio Cacheux boletos preferenciales para ir al partido de fútbol al día siguiente contra Pumas.
Nuestros tres valientes chicos no solo culminaron su más anhelado sueño, que fue mágico, sino que lograron mucho más, olvidarse de sus padecimientos por un día y ser solamente NIÑOS FELICES con enormes corazones e irse a casa llenos de esperanza y fortaleza.
La familia de cada uno de ellos estaba muy emocionada viendo lo que pasaba y celebrando junto con nosotros la alegría de los chicos. Una vez más podemos decir que cuando se unen voluntades ¡NADA ES IMPOSIBLE!
