Punta Mita Time Prepares For High Season
email this pageprint this pageemail usThe Latin Palate - PVNN

Songwriter and best-selling author Kinky Friedman (L) may be coming this winter, proving once again that there's always plenty of food and fun at Punta Mita Time. For more information, call (329) 291-6272.

In late October, Film Director Sir Rodrigo Rodriguez will be down looking for locations to shoot a special he is working on.
As restaurants and businesses all around the Bay of Banderas are preparing for Puerto Vallarta's 2007/2008 "High Season," Punta Mita Time Restaurant chef/owner Art Mendoza is leading the pack.

"It seems like we were busier during the slow season than we were during last year's High season. I think more people had their passports and came down over the summer, but the weather was on our side, being cooler than usual for this time of year," says Mendoza.

It seems more likely that the reason Punta Mita Time enjoyed such a successful summer season is because they continued their tradition of offering residents and visitors alike the unique opportunity to enjoy excellent food at incredibly reasonable prices in a laid back atmosphere.

Sticking with the restaurant's original concept of keeping the menu simple, Punta Mita Time serves a short list of high quality items for breakfast and lunch and offers evening menus that let guests choose between two entrees for a fixed price.

This year, Chef Art has also added some new items to the restaurant's nightly specials and live entertainment will be back, with Joe King Carrasco playing every Friday and Saturday with Art and other musicians filling in on other nights. There will also be a real open mic night for both new and seasoned artists.

On Saturdays, Texas BBQ nights continue featuring live entertainment by legendary Texas performers. Claude Morgan from San Antonio, who was a big hit last year, will definitely be back, and there may be some other surprises as well.

Songwriter and best-selling author Kinky Friedman may be down this winter, and if this happens, Willie Nelson will not be far behind. In late October, Film Director Sir Rodrigo Rodriguez will be down looking for locations to shoot a special he is working on.

With construction of the new upstairs deck and The Fence for 16mm films almost completed, Punta Mita Time will be THE place for good times this year. Plans are being made for a special anniversary dinner to celebrate the restaurant's first year of operations and all locals, new and old clients and tourists will be contacted with more details.

Open Wednesday through Monday from 7 am to 8:30 pm (Punta Mita Time) and closed on Tuesdays for private parties, Punta Mita Time is located on Avenida Las Pangas #2 in Punta de Mita, Nayarit.

While visiting Punta de Mita, don't forget that Chef Art will also come to your private home or villa to prepare an unforgettable breakfast or dinner for you and your friends. For more information, call (329) 291-6272.
