Kiwanis Club Coming to Puerto Vallarta PVNN
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. Founded in 1915, Kiwanis International is a thriving organization of service- and community-minded men and women who support children and young adults from more than 13,000 clubs in 90 countries.
Specifically, groups evaluate the community needs, then conduct service projects to respond to those needs. Service projects can also address other needs within the community, such as working to stop substance abuse, helping the elderly, promoting literacy, supporting youth sports, responding to disasters, and supporting specific persons in need.
Club meetings offer an atmosphere of fun, learning, and fellowship. Our planned start up here in Vallarta is in early December. Membership is open to both Spanish and English speaking Vallartans.
Cost is quite minimal, with membership at $20 US and monthly support based on ability. The Kiwanis network can introduce you to persons and activities in your Vallarta community you might not otherwise encounter.
At this time we especially like to connect with existing Kiwanis members who now reside permanently or seasonally in Puerto Vallarta, and also encourage curious potential members to be in contact with us.
Please check out the international website: Kiwanis.org and then write to either gary@greenandassociates.org, or jimboland@aol.com, and we will let you know when and where the first meeting will be held. |
