Mexican Foreign Minister Patricia Espinosa
Mexican Foreign Minister Patricia Espinosa says Mexico seeks direct talks with China to resolve crisis over the Chinese textile exports.

Espinosa indicated Mexico hopes to reach an agreement before bringing its case before the WTO.

An agreement restricting Chinese imports to Mexico is due to expire on December and Mexico must decide which tariffs it wishes to place on Chinese products and submit the reasons to the World Trade organization.

"We believe we can resolve this through negotiations," Espinosa told reporters at a news conference at the end of a visit to Beijing.

Mexico also places restrictions on other Chinese commodities shielding local producers from the Chinese export.
