Anti-Drug Fight in Mexico Demands Society-Gov't Unity Prensa Latina go to original
Mexico City - The governor of the Mexican state of Guerrero, Zeferino Torreblanca, said on Friday that in order to fight organized crime in political spheres, society and the government must join forces.
Torreblanca told reporters that drug traffickers have infiltrated police corporations, thus the need to take drastic measures to eradicate extreme aggressiveness from the community.
"Due to the need to eliminate that scourge from the state, we must create a common front against violence, organized crime, drug trafficking and in defense of the family," Torreblanca pointed out.
The governor noted that judicial reform in 2008 would allow the police to tap suspicious phone lines and carry out searches without a warrant. |
