Mexico Jobless Rate Down to 3.46% in November Jason Lange - Reuters go to original
Mexico City - Mexico's jobless rate was a lower-than-expected 3.46 percent in November, the government said on Friday, below October's 3.93 percent.
A Reuters survey of analysts had forecast an unemployment rate of 3.57 percent for November.
Mexico's economy is grew 4.8 percent last year, but is expected to expand only 3 percent this year as economic growth slows in the United States, its key export market.
The unemployment figure, however, is not considered an entirely accurate picture of Mexico's jobless rate because of how it is measured.
Analysts sometimes refer to it as a gauge of possible changes in consumer demand. (Editing by Dan Grebler) |
