5th Make-A-Wish México Golf Tournament

The beautiful Flamingos Golf Course in Nuevo Vallarta, Nayarit will be the host course for the 5th Annual Make-a-Wish México Golf Tournament, on Saturday, January 26th to raise money for terminally ill children at a time when they need it most.
This year, each of the eighteen teams of 4 players have been assigned a Mexican child with a life threatening illnesses that was diagnosed before their 18th birthday, and each player's entry fee, along with matching funds donated by the team's corporate sponser, will be used to grant that child's wish.
Registration opens at 9 am and the format of the tournament is a Scramble, with tee times starting at 10 am with intervals of 8 minutes between each team. The four members of each team will each hit a ball and the best one will be the one played by all team members.
At every hole, the names of the players on each team, the name, age, illness and the wish of one or more of the Make A Wish Mexico kids, and the logos of their participating sponsor companies will be announced. In this way, everyone will know who is playing and which companies are sponsoring the cause.
As in past years, prizes will be awarded to winning participants, special prizes will be awarded for a hole-in-one and other special achievements, and a post-tournament cocktail party and gala dinner will follow the tournament at the CasaMagna Marriott Resort in Marina Vallarta.
The ceremony will be filled with magic and emotion. It will be the occasion to celebrate the good will of the Puerto Vallarta community and to thank all of those who support Make-A-Wish México for the generosity in helping these children that fight every day in hopes that they will get a miracle.
Of course, our very special and heart felt thanks go out to Flamingo Club de Golf, to Mr. Bill Davis and his marvelous team; to the Marriot Casa Magna Hotel for their unconditional, immediate and wonderful support and to Mr. Joe Johnston whose expertise makes him an invaluable asset to the Make-A-Wish Foundation México.

5° Torneo de Golf Make-A-Wish México Flamingos Club de Golf-Marriot Casa Magna 26 de enero de 2008

El próximo sábado 26 de enero se jugará el 5° Torneo Make-A-Wish México en Flamingos Club de Golf en Nuevo Vallarta, Nay.
18 equipos (de 4 jugadores cada uno) participarán junto a 18 empresas nacionales y extranjeras para colaborar en la realización de igual número de deseos de niños mexicanos que luchan contra enfermedades graves que amenazan su vida.
Este torneo se ha convertido ya en una tradición, en una esperada oportunidad para reunir amigos y hermanar esfuerzos por una causa muy noble y a través de una estrecha y divertida competencia. Golfistas de distintos puntos del la región se suman a la lista de participantes; cada uno de ellos estará haciendo con su donativo de inscripción una valiosa aportación al momento mágico de un niño-deseo.
El torneo se jugará en modalidad scramble, es decir, los equipos arrancarán en el hoyo 1 con intervalos de 8 minutos entre ellos; los cuatro integrantes golpean una bola y el mejor tiro es el que se juega. Esto permite que el juego sea dinámico y que la competencia también suceda al interior de los equipos, de manera que sea más divertido.
En cada hoyo habrá un gran anuncio con el nombre, la edad, el padecimiento y el deseo de uno de algunos de los niños que han sido referidos a Make-A-Wish México, los nombres de los integrantes de un equipo y los logotipos de las empresas patrocinadoras. De esta forma todos estarán enterados de con quiénes compiten y qué empresas apoyan la misma causa.
El registro se abrirá a las 9 de la mañana. El primer equipo estará arrancando su ronda a las 10 am, de tal forma que alrededor de las 14 hrs. el juego termine y todo el mundo vaya a descansar y a prepararse para la magnífica cena que se ofrecerá en hotel Marriot Casa Magna en Marina Vallarta y que dará lugar a la ceremonia de premiación.
La ceremonia estará llena de magia y emociones. Será la ocasión de celebrar la buena voluntad y de agradecer la generosidad de quienes apoyan a Make-A-Wish México y a los muchos niños que todos los días luchan en espera de un milagro.
