For Mike and Debbi Egan, life has always involved helping others, so back in 2006 they decided to help raise money for Banderas Bay area schools and charitable organizations by hosting Local Celebrity Charity Night at Banana Cantina each week, and donating 10% of the night's sales to the guest host's chosen charity.
Held every Wednesday from 7-10 pm, Local Celebrity Night at bANANAcANtiNA soon became one of the Puerto Vallarta high season's most popular weekly events, offering residents and visitors the opportunity to eat, drink and be merry - for a good cause.
Last week, bANANaCANtiNA and Candace of Fishing With Carolina, along with our very fun and generous customers raised $3972 pesos for AUTISM02, a non-profit clinic with a Hyperbaric Chamber for those with MS, Fibromyalgia, Cancer, Stroke and other debilitating conditions.
At $500 pesos per canister of oxygen, the funds collected will buy 8 canisters, which are used in the hyberbaric chamber at the AUTISMO2 clinic. Kerri says they are seeing great results from this daily. This chamber is used for more than Autism, please contact her at 223-2006 for more information.
Stop by Banana Cantina every Wednesday night for Local Celebrity Charity Night. The food is delicious, the raffles prizes are impressive, and at $50 pesos a ticket, you can win gift certificates to many fine restaurants, jewelry stores and more - all for a good cause!
