There will be 6 major films, short films, documentaries, films for children and, for the first time in Vallarta, Cinema for the Blind. Many cinemas nowadays have devices designed for the blind, for example ear pieces through which the important actions and movements of characters are narrated.
This festival will be a tribute to the comic Germán Valdés, "Tin-Tan," the late Mexican actor, singer and comedian. Other invitees will be Ximena Sariñana, Roberto Sosa, Ana Serradilla, Plutarch Haza, Marco Trevino and Cesar Bono.
The festival will run three competitions for the students of the Centro Universitario de la Costa including a short film category with a prize of $10,000 pesos, a "Spot" video which takes a maximum of 20 seconds and is used to promote the festival, and a photography competition in the categories of comedy, tragedy and fiction.
