The sponsors cordially invite the first 128 golfers (32 teams of four) to participate in this fun event at the El Tigre Golf Course on April 20, 2008 to raise money for the kids with Cerebral Palsy of "Busca un Amigo."
Participants: All amateur golfers, men and women, with or without handicaps, are invited for this fun event to raise funds for the American School of Puerto Vallarta and for Busca Un Amigo A.C, the local rehabilitation center for children with Cerebral Palsy at El Pitillal.
Tournament Format: The format is a 4-ball scramble. All four golfers hit their individual drives/tee shots. The best drive/tee shot is then selected and all four golfers hit their second shot from there. The process continues with all four golfers putting from the location of the best approach shot until one of the four balls is in the cup and the score is recorded.
Starting Times: There will be a 9:00 AM shotgun start from each of the 18 holes. Please arrive at 8:50 AM to your assigned starting hole.
Rules: The tournament will be conducted under the Rules of USGA, the Mexican Federation of Golf and the El Tigre local course rules listed on the scorecard. The Rules committee will be in charge of enforcing all rules. All decisions of the committee will be final.
Mulligans: Players may purchase up to 3 Mulligans. Mulligans may be used on any shot, but may not be used for tee shots on par 3 holes or for qualifying strokes on prize holes.
Scorecards: Each team should assign one person, the team captain, to record the team's score on each hole. The tournament committee is responsible for the addition of the scores. The scorecard will be returned to the scoring table immediately upon following play. The captain and the team members testifying the correctness of the score must sign the scorecard.
Pace Of Play: It is every player's responsibility to play without undue delay. The Marshall will warn groups that are out of position. If a group receives three warnings, the golf committee will assess 2 penalty strokes to the team.
Breaking Ties: The lowest team score will break ties in the following manner: first, by the lowest score for the last nine holes, second by the lowest score for the last six holes, third, by the lowest score for the last three holes. If the tie continues, the same procedure will be used for the first nine holes.
Shoes: Soft spike shoes are required of all players.
Tees: Gentlemen with a handicap less than 10 and younger than 50 years old will play from the Black tees. Gentlemen with a handicap greater than 10 or more than 50 years old will play from the White tees. All women and boys age 11-14 will play from the Red tees. Boys/Girls 10 and under will play from special tees.
Trophies: There are five categories of competition; Champions, Seniors, Women's, Kids and Couples/Mixed. The Senior team must have a combined age of 220 years with no player under 50. Champions team players, with a handicap up to 10 and are under 50 years of age, must use the Black Tees, all other male players will use the White Tees. Young players, 14 or under, will play from the Red Tees along with the women. Boy/Girls 10 and under will play from the special tees. Players within the same foursome must use the tees mandated for their age and handicap. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies for the Champions category. For the other categories, there will be trophies only for the first place team.
Closest To The Pin: merchandise awards will be given for the "closest to the hole" on all four par 3's. At each of the holes there will be a neutral judge who will be responsible to determine which ball is closest to the hole.

Don't miss the fun! You'll have a great time, while supporting the kids with Cerebral Palsy of "Busca un Amigo."
Colegio Americano will be donating part of the proceeds from these events to Busca un Amigo, A.C., a local rehabilitation center for children with cerebral palsy. Founded in 2004 by Silvia Peña Hernández, the center is operated primarily by volunteers and professionals who donate their services, as well as sponsors, who provide the center with the children's nutritional needs.
However, even with the effort of all the personnel, volunteers and parents, there still aren't enough funds to take care of all the children's therapy needs. So come on out, play some golf and have some fun, while supporting a good cause! Busca un Amigo is a non-profit organizations and, as such, donations are tax-deductible.
