Wendy's to Expand Into Mexico City Associated Press go to original
Hamburger chain Wendy's International Inc. is expanding into Mexico City and the northern Mexican city of Monterrey with more than 60 restaurants.
The suburban Columbus-based company said Monday it reached an agreement with Mexico City-based Corpogas, one of Mexico's largest gasoline and convenience store retailers, and Monterrey-based Grupo Refran, part of the group that brought Applebee's restaurants to Mexico.
Wendy's already operates 12 restaurants in the northern Mexico cities of Ciudad Juarez and Chihuahua through another franchisee, Wenco-Mexico S.A.
The company announced last year it would open its first restaurants in the southeast Asian nation of Malaysia. |
