PV Hosts National Fireworks Championship

As a prelude to the International Fireworks Symposium, which is scheduled to be held in Puerto Vallarta in April of 2009, a National Fireworks Competition will be held on May 30, 2008 as part of Puerto Vallarta's 90th Anniversary celebration.
Starting at 8:30 pm at the Augustine Contreras Flowers Sports Stadium, this free event will be the largest fireworks display in Puerto Vallarta's history with over four hours of pyrotechnics competition.
Each of the eight participating fireworks manufacturers from Mexico City, Sonora, Tlaxcala and Puerto Vallarta will have 20 minutes to WOW! the crowds - and the judges - while competing for prizes totaling $200,000 pesos.
The National Fireworks Competition will be a dry run for the International Fireworks Symposium, which, besides putting Puerto Vallarta in the limelight, will generate important revenues for the city.
In the meantime, the National Fireworks Competition on May 30th will no doubt turn the Puerto Vallarta Sports Stadium into a dazzling fiesta full of bright lights and colors. Be sure to arrive before the 8:30 pm start time, as seating is limited. |
