Building a Park from Recycled Materials

On Saturday, May 24th children, parents and the community will join together to build a beautiful, safe and innovative park for the children of San Francisco, Nayarit.
The Recicla Parque project represents an initiative by the local non profit entreamigos to work together with the parents of the elementary school to build a children's park/playground made almost entirely out of recycled materials.
The elementary school in San Pancho does not currently have a single piece of play equipment or even a table for children to sit at during lunch. The Recicla Parque project serves as an impulse for the community Recycling program while serving a real need in providing safe, beautiful places for children to play and learn.
This one day community build event will serve as a teaching ground for sustainable building techniques, art workshops and the power of community for the good. The atmosphere will be festive, with activities for every age and skill level.
There will be food, T-shirts, music, a massage booth for tired volunteers and raffles and fun giveaways throughout the day. There will be children's activities and child care for the littlest helpers. There is no cost to attend, but we do ask volunteers to come with an easy attitude and ready to work!
The Recicla Parque event begins at 9 am, Nayarit time, and is expected to finish at 3 pm. We invite volunteers coming from elsewhere to form teams (of 4 or more) and pre-register for easier organization on the day of the event.

Recicla Parque en San Pancho

El sábado 24 de Mayo, los niños padres y la comunidad nos reuniremos para construir un parque hermoso, seguro e innovador para los niños de San Pancho.
El proyecto Recicla Parque representa una iniciativa de la asociación civil local entreamigos para trabajar junto a los padres de familia de la escuela primaria y crear un parque infantil de juegos hecho casi en su totalidad de materiales reciclados.
Esta escuela local de San Pancho no tiene actualmente ningún juego o siquiera mesa para que los niños se sienten a almorzar. El proyecto Recicla Parque sirve como un impulso para el programa comunitario de reciclaje al mismo tiempo que cubre una necesidad real de proveer un espacio hermoso y seguro para jugar y aprender.
Este evento comunitario de construcción de UN DÍA servirá como base de difusión de técnicas sustentables de construcción, talleres de arte y el poder comunitario por el bien. El ambiente en el evento será festivo, con actividades para personas de todas edades y habilidades.
Habrá alimentos, playeras, música, masajes para los voluntarios cansados, rifas y premios durante el día, así como actividades para los niños y una guardería para los ayudantes más pequeños. No habrá ningún costo por asistir pero sí le pedimos a los voluntarios que vengan con una actitud ligera y con ¡muchas ganas de trabajar!
El evento Recicla Parque comienza a las 9 am, hora local de Nayarit y se espera termine a las 3 pm. Se le invita a los voluntarios que vienen de fuera a que formen equipos (de 4 ó más personas) y que se registren previamente para facilitar la planeación del evento.
El evento será en la avenida principal, fácil de encontrar si se ingresa al pueblo. Se puede encontrar más información de Recicla Parque en su página web.
