It takes more than physical beauty and talent in front of and behind the cameras to succeed in the world of high fashion. It takes discipline, dedication and a commitment to being fit, looking good and staying healthy.
So, as part of the 2008 UjENA Jam Puerto Vallarta, in addition to vying for magazine covers and lucrative contracts, participating models and photographers must also compete in a variety of sporting events.
According to UjENA Swim and Fashion Wear Sales Director, Justin Wall, "As a swimwear company, it's very important for our models to stay healthy and look good, so fitness is a big part of the Jam. That's why we decided to add the 50 meter freestyle swim race this year. We also have a 5k run/walk, a golf tournament and all kinds of outdoor lifestyle events that we incorporate into the UjENA Jam."
The 50 meter freestyle swim competition took place on Thursday at the Crown Paradise Hotel, where models, photographers, sponsors and guests competed for prizes that ranged from UjENA Image awards to $100 gift certificates redeemable at UjENA.com.
After the race, BanderasNews Videographer Devon Allistone caught up with swimsuit model, Tatum Miranda, who was the overall winner in both the model's and women's categories. Congratulations, Tatum!
