(AP/Eduardo Verdugo) | | Mexico City - The Mexican Government condemned the violent events that occurred in the city of Morelia, Michoacán, during the Independence Day celebrations, adding that it would redouble efforts to support the state of Michoacán and its government in investigating these events, to banish the crime and violence it suffers.
At the same time, government expressed its condolences to the relatives of the victims and hoped for the swift recovery of the wounded.
Such cowardly events deserve the rejection of society as a whole and the immediate reaction of the Mexican state forces to punish them according to the law.
As soon as he had news of the events, the President rang the Governor of Michoacán and met with the Secretary of National Defense, the Secretary of the Navy, the Secretary of Public Security and the director of CISEN at the National Palace, where he issued the necessary instructions to proceed immediately to clarify events and find those responsible. |
