Jose Francisco Granados de la Paz was extradited Tuesday to Mexico to stand trial for aggravated homicide.

Harrisburg, Pa. – A Mexican citizen who allegedly confessed to more than 10 killings in Mexico is back in that country, courtesy of the Justice Department.

Federal authorities say Jose Francisco Granados de la Paz was extradited Tuesday to Mexico to stand trial for aggravated homicide.

The extradition request was granted last year and focused on his alleged confession to stabbing Mayra Juliana Reyes Solis in 2001.

Her body, and the remains of four other women, were found five months later in a canal across the border from El Paso, Texas.

Granados de la Paz was in a U.S. prison serving a 37-month sentence for an immigration violation.

Authorities say he will serve out the sentence in Mexico, plus any prison time he may receive there
