Although Yelapa is a popular Puerto Vallarta tourist attraction, most visitors are unaware of several factors that make it unique.
One of the most important being La Casa de la Imaginación, a vibrant community center for the children of Yelapa where kids can come together to interact and enrich their lives with art, drama, music, learning and community.
As a non-profit organization, La Casa de la Imaginación is always in need of volunteers and operating funds, so this summer they held their 2nd Bi-Annual Raffle, giving everyone the chance to win a week's stay in one of the lovely tropical lodgings in Yelapa for just $2 USD per ticket.
Proceeds from the raffle will help support Yelapa's Casa de la Imaginación Cultural Center. The Casa has been in operation now for 4 years. Through donations of funds, materials, and volunteer help from all over the world, children experience art, ecology education, music, dance, song, yoga, drama, enhanced cultural awareness and have a home in the center of the village to grow and thrive together.
In support of La Casa de la Imaginación, five owners of Yelapa rental properties donated a free week's stay to be given away as raffle prizes, four of which were awarded to the prize winners and the last was given to the person who sold the most tickets.
The drawing was held on October 31, 2008, and the winners are... drum roll please...
• Jenn and Kevin Brunner sold the most raffle tickets, winning a week-long stay in the lovely Casa del Sol - plus $500 dollars cash!
• Debra Beene won lodging at the newly renovated Yelapa Oasis.
• Sam "The Yo Yo Man" Wylie (a past Casa Imaginación volunteer) won a stay with Casa Isabel.
• Gloria Cannon will be staying at the Original Hotel Lagunita.
• Sue Ann Wade Crouse won a week at the amazing Los Sueños.
 Once again, we thank all of you that participated. The raffle raised funds to continue running our center for the next two years. We also want to thank the great number of visitors that have stopped by and we offer all an open invitation to come spend some time at La Casa de la Imaginación.
