Barcelona, Spain - The BSWW World ranking is updated with the 2008 results and made official. The participating nations are ranked based on their participation and competition results in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cups between 2005 and 2008 with the most successful teams being ranked highest.
A point system is used, with points being awarded based on the results of games played at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup. For the teams that have not yet been able to qualify for any global showpiece, the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Qualifier 2008 participation and final standing is taken into consideration.
