(Reuters) | | A Japanese man on a tourist visa who, for no apparent reason, had been sleeping in a Mexico City airport since Sept. 2 has moved to an apartment. The newspaper Reforma published photos on Wednesday of the man, Hiroshi Nohara, clean-cut and shaved.
Mr. Nohara left his abode, Terminal 1 of Benito Juárez International Airport, on Sunday with a woman identified only as Oyuki, Reforma said. The newspaper quoted him as saying that he would not return to the airport, but refusing to comment on his plans.
His visa expires in early March. Oyuki said only that she had invited him to stay in her Mexico City apartment so he could sleep in a real bed. She lives alone and her husband works in Japan, Reforma said.
Mr. Nohara’s residency at the airport for nearly four months drew comparisons to Viktor Navorski, the character portrayed by Tom Hanks in the 2004 movie “The Terminal.” |
