When the University of Guadalajara and Jalisco's Education Secretary signed the agreement to allow the "Club de Leones" (Lions Club) elementary school use the Puerto Vallarta's High School facilities in a temporary fashion, cleaning of this educational center immediately began.

The use of these facilities is only until the "Club de Leones" elementary school finishes building their own school. This week, all the children from this elementary school will start taking their classes in a clean space.

After the official announcement, local authorities from different governmental organizations including Civil Protection, the Fire Department, Traffic Police and the Department of Environmental Protection came together to ensure a good environment for children to learn in their new temporary facility.

According to the director of Municipal Public Services and coordinator of the project, Juan Pablo Garcia Castillon, soon all of the children will be able to go back to classes in a safe and secure environment.

The cleaning and repairs included removing overgrown trees and shrubbery, repairing of man holes in the common areas and the replacement of some lights, among other things. Some areas of this temporary facility will remain closed for the security of the students.

A secondary entrance will be utilized on a side street, as traffic on Francisco Villa can be heavy and present dangers to the children, according Traffic Police Sub-Director Sergio Davila Aguirre.
