In the past two weeks alone, investments for $500 million USD have been announced, President declared.
President Felipe Calderón announced that his government is using actions to deal with the economic problems Mexico, like the rest of the world, is undergoing, adding that in the past two weeks alone, investments of nearly $500 million USD have been announced by various firms.

On a working tour of the state of Nuevo León, the President inaugurated a factory belong to Lenovo, a computer maker, and a factory to produce Hershey's chocolates, two projects with combined investments of over $340 million USD.

During his inauguration of the Lenovo factory in the municipality of Apodaca, the President reported that the necessary measures are being taken to attract productive capitals from all over the world that will prepare Mexico for an era of sustained, equitable growth, which is the aim of the changes made throughout the country.

Accompanied by State Governor José Natividad González Parás, the President said that these investments are a clear sign of the confidence that investors from all over the world have in Mexico but also of this country's competitive advantages in the global economy.

In view of this, President Calderón declared: “Without minimizing the gravity of the economic problems faced by Mexico and the rest of the world, I can safely say that we are using actions to cope with these problems.”

He stressed that his government will continue acting in a firm, determined and timely fashion to cope with Mexico's challenges, whether this involves coping with economic adversity, establishing conditions of full legality and the rule of law or attracting productive investments that will create jobs for Mexicans.

He stressed that the necessary actions are being taken to protect the jobs and income of Mexican families in order to create the conditions that will increase the country's investment and productivity.

He added that Federal Government will continue promoting all the necessary actions to guarantee investments in Mexico and to attract them, in order to create more jobs for Mexican families.
