Goodbye Pride, Hello Splendor!
email this pageprint this pageemail usSalvador Murguía - PVNN

The Carnival Splendor will be cruising into Puerto Vallarta every Wednesday starting April 8th.
Last Wednesday one the most recognized cruise ships from Carnival Cruise Lines, The Pride, docked in Puerto Vallarta for the last time after visiting our port every Wednesday for the last several years. But as we say farewell to the Pride, we say hello to the Carnival Splendor.

After many years of traveling to our beloved port every week, the Carnival Pride made its last visit to Puerto Vallarta this week, ending several years of bringing thousands of visitors to our streets.

Carnival Cruise Lines is not ceasing operations here, but will be replacing this very popular cruise ship with the Carnival Splendor, which visited our main pier last Monday and will be cruising into Puerto Vallarta every Wednesday starting April 8th and will dock year-round, just like the Pride.

Of all the Carnival cruiseships, The Splendor is the newest, largest and most innovative ship in the company's fleet to date. She'll dazzle all cruisers with a host of new features, including: staterooms with flat screen TVs; a spectacular 21,000 square foot, two-level spa and gym facility; a 5500 square foot children's playroom; and a mid-ship pool covered with a two-deck-high Sliding Sky Dome. It weighs over 100 thousand tons and it has 13 passenger decks, holding over three thousand passengers in its 1503 guest staterooms.

Compared to the Carnival Pride, this ship is bigger and newer and can hold about a thousand passengers more than its predecessor. It is 952 feet long and its cruising speed is 21 knots.

Welcome Carnival Splendor! Farewell, Carnival Pride.
