"Mexicans have a government determined to cope with problems," Calderón declares.
Rioverde, SLP - President Felipe Calderón urged everyone to do his part in this international economic downturn to pull Mexico through.

He acknowledged that the country is experiencing problems, "but we also have a people and a government determined to deal with them and overcome them.”

During his second day of activities in San Luis Potosí, in the municipality of Rioverde, the President admitted that it is important to invest in infrastructure, particularly now that there is an economic crisis.

"Because we know, residents of San Luis Potosí, that infrastructure means employment, we know that infrastructure means a better economy and we know that infrastructure means progress for Mexico," he explained.

He said that in 2008, 500 billion pesos were assigned to this area, in other words, nearly three times what was invested during the 10 previous years.

Accompanied by state governor Marcelo de los Santos Fraga and Secretary of Communications and Transport, Juan Molinar Horcasitas, President Calderón inaugurated four flyovers with an investment of 310 million pesos which will benefit over 800,000 persons. Over 700,000 direct and approximately 2,000 indirect jobs were generated.

“Today, with these works, we have kept our word. Through these works, I have kept my word to San Luis Potosí and Río Verde, with the flyovers and Boulevard Universitario," he declared.
