3rd Annual Riviera Nayarit International Marlin & Tuna Fishing Tournament PVNN

Click image to enlarge | | | Boasting an abundance of marlin and tuna, as well as top game fish such as sailfish, mahi mahi, grouper, red snapper and wahoo, Riviera Nayarit is fast becoming known as one of the best fishing destinations in the Americas.
With 160 kilometers of coastline stretching from Nuevo Vallarta to San Blas, the Riviera Nayarit is the perfect place for fishermen from around the world to test their fishing skills while competing in the Third Annual Riviera Nayarit Marlin and Tuna International Fishing Tournament.
Scheduled to be held at the Marina Riviera Nayarit in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle from August 13-15, 2009, this year's tournament promises some hot and heavy competition as anglers from around the world vie for the $100,000 peso purse that will be awarded to the fisherman that can beat the Mexican Pacific Coast Marlin record of 710.55 pounds, set by Alejandro Herrera during the inaugural Riviera Nayarit Marlin and Tuna International Fishing Tournament in 2007.
This year's tournament also offers a first place purse of $100,000 pesos for the first tuna caught that exceeds the tournament record of 167.55 lbs.
