Attacks by Organized Crime will not Intimidate Federal Government: President Calderón Presidencia de la República go to original July 15, 2009
| President Felipe Calderón (C) swears in Board of Directors of National Chamber of Industry of Housing Promotion and Development. | | President Felipe Calderón declared that organized crime will not intimidate Federal Government and that he will continue his fight to guarantee families' security, since what is at stake is Mexicans' peace.
“We will continue acting to prevent them from continuing to harm society. We will continue working until we eradicate that way of acting towards upright citizens who simply work every day to be able to live in peace," he said.
During the swearing-in of the 2009-2010 CANADEVI Board of Directors at the 23rd National Housing Conference, the President expressed his condolences to the families of the Federal Force officers that lost their lives during the attacks by criminals and died thinking that it is possible to construct a safer Mexico.
“They are true heroes who have sacrificed their lives for the sake of the tranquility of Mexican families throughout the country. They have given their all to construct a Mexico that is truly free from criminal action, a Mexico of laws and freedom, a country in which we can live in peace, which is what we all want," he said.
Accompanied by Secretary of Social Development, Ernesto Cordero Arroyo and the main representatives of the housing sector, the President repeated the fact that his administration will persevere in the fight for the country's security and freedom. It will therefore not take a single step back in this matter but continue to attack the structures of organized crime.
“We will not hesitate in this fight," said President Calderón, making it quite clear that Federal Government's commitment is not only to combat the lack of safety on the streets but also the problems and challenges facing Mexico.
“Fighting for safety will not affect the struggle to recover economic growth and development with justice; it is more than the fight for security, it is the fight to establish a fundamental premise for growth, which is legal certainty," he said. |
