Plans are underway for ExProTur Vallarta 2009, an International exposition for tourist industry service providers in the Puerto Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit and Banderas Bay areas, scheduled to take place at the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center from November 4th-6th, 2009.
With 30,000 hotel rooms and over 1500 restaurants, as well as hundreds of companies that offer a wide variety of products and services to tourists, the Puerto Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit and Banderas Bay region is ranked as Mexico's second most popular tourist destination, with investment in tourism infrastructure increasing every day.
According to data provided by FONATUR, lodging will increase to an estimated 40,000 hotel rooms over the next 2 years to accommodate the influx of tourists, which is expected to increase from 5 to 7 million tourists, while the population is estimated to grow from 450,000 to 600,000 inhabitants.
ExProTur Vallarta is an important product show for the local hospitality industry, offering both exhibitors and attendees the opportunity to network with the directors, sales executives and proprietors of hotels and restaurants in Puerto Vallarta, Banderas Bay and surrounding areas.
Scheduled to be held from November 4-6 at the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center, ExProTur Vallarta 2009 is an exclusive showcase that gives participating providers in the tourism industry the opportunity to reach the international consumer/tourist market.

Puerto Vallarta, La Riviera Nayarit y Bahía de Banderas,son un mercado, cautivo contando con 30,000 habitaciones devacación turística y mas de 1,500 restaurantes de diferentes niveles, así como cientos de empresas dedicadas a ofrecer diferentes productos y servicios al turista que visita esta importante región; que de acuerdo a la Secretaría de Turismo ascienden a 8 millones 976 mil 390 visitantes nacionales y extranjeros.
La región conformada por los grandes destinos turísticos de Puerto Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit y Bahía de Banderas está clasificada como el segundo destino turístico con mayor inversión en infraestructura turística en nuestro país, incrementando día con día su infraestructura, la cual se estima que pasará de 30,000 a 40,000 cuartos de hotel en los próximos 2 años de acuerdo a datos proporcionados por FONATUR. Lo cual representa que la afluencia turística se incremente de 5 a 7 millones de turistas, al mismo tiempo que la población pasará de 450,000 a 600,000 habitantes.
La complementación y verificación de nuevos centros de actividades turísticas, la incorporación de los poblados rurales al turismo mediante el ecoturismo y agroturismo, todo con una visión estratégica de mediano y largo plazo. El plan de hoy presenta el fondo, sienta las bases y objetivos comunes para el desarrollo integral sustentable de esta región; da rumbo y medida, y aporta una visión estratégica.
Por último el desarrollo del corredor turístico siendo el megaproyecto Litibú Vallarta-Nayarit, que será desde Puerto Vallarta hasta San Blas Nayarit, sin duda una de los corredores Turísticos más completos de nuestro país gracias a sus riquezas naturales que ofrece a los millones de turistas que visitan la zona Occidente.
