Mexico Jobless Rate Likely Unchanged in Sept Jean Luis Arce - Reuters go to original October 20, 2009
Mexico City - Mexican unemployment likely held steady at a 13-year high in September, a Reuters poll suggests, as many employers refrain from hiring despite the central bank's confidence an economic recovery is underway.
The unemployment rate likely held at 6.28 percent in September, according to the median forecast of 14 analysts.
While employers remain cautious, Mexico's central bank said last week that the economy likely grew nearly 3 percent in the third quarter from the previous three months.
A deep recession in the United States has crippled the Mexican economy, whose fate is tied to its northern neighbor.
