There's always so much going on in Puerto Vallarta and around Banderas Bay, it can be difficult to keep up with it all. So we've put together a brief overview of some of this week's news headlines from local Spanish language publications, and added some upcoming events you won't want to miss.
Puerto Vallarta’s Titanic
If you are a regular visitor to Puerto Vallarta then you know the Marigalante. This is the pirate ship which sets sail everyday and every evening across the Banderas Bay amazing their passengers and admirers with their magical fireworks display.
However, on the morning of November 11th the ship nearly sank while it was anchored at the Marina Terminal. The cause of the problem has yet to be revealed. The Marigalante’s manager will publicly announce when the ship will set sail again as soon as they have everything under control.
Turn That Frown Upside Down
Depression is unfortunately a common side effect of a down economy, especially in this "crisis" we are facing at the moment. Starting next week the 8th jurisdiction of the Jalisco Ministry of Health will begin treating people who have shown symptoms of depression in the past couple of months for a very reasonable price. This will be in an effort to prevent possible suicides caused by depression.
Direct Flights from Chicago to Vallarta
Puerto Vallarta is quickly becoming one of the premier vacation destinations for travelers from all over the world. Which is the reason why starting December 3rd the port’s visitors will be able to take a direct flight to PV departing out of Chicago, IL.
This was the announcement made by Fideicomiso Director Miguel Gonzalez Gonzalez, who stated that Vallarta is growing at an incredible rate and this new direct flight is just the start, as many new direct flights will be added in the future.
