New Orchid Conservatory to be Built at Vallarta Botanical Gardens Dianna Madsen - PVNN December 11, 2009
| Mexico is home to over 1,250 native orchid species, many of which are endemic to the country. | | Construction will begin at Vallarta Botanical Gardens in early 2010 to build a new conservatory to house The National Collection of Mexican Orchids. The National Collection will be the most complete collection of native Mexican Orchid species on public display anywhere in the country.
A gala benefit called "Flower Power!" will take place on the night of December 21st in the exotic garden setting of Rio Amapas Town and Jungle, a luxury housing development located at Sierra de los Pinos 134 in Colonia Amapas Sur neighborhood.
The event is open to anyone wishing to make a suggested donation of $500 pesos towards the construction of the new conservatory, and will feature live Cuban music, open bar and gourmet party food. The names of those donating to this unique and important project will appear on a permanent bronze plaque within the new 300 square meter conservatory.
