| Obama's approval rating in the latest ABC News/Post poll shows a six point drop for the President and 52 percent disapproving of the President's handling of the economy. | | President Barack Obama's teflon is gone. The many problems affecting the nation have driven his job approval numbers below 50 percent and a plurality of Americans now view the party in a negative light.
A new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll puts Obama's job approval rating at 47 percent with 55 percent of Americans believing the country is headed in the wrong direction.
And a "plurality" of Americans now lay the blame at the doorstep of the Democratic party.
“This survey underscores what I consider a dramatic and unmistakable change in the political landscape,” said Democratic pollster Peter D. Hart, who conducted the survey with GOP pollster Bill McInturff. “For Democrats, the red flags are flying at full mast.”
“The sagging economy is beginning to drag him down,” McInturff added. “This is increasingly becoming President Obama’s economy.”
ABC and The Washington Post also found an unhappy American public. Obama's approval rating in the latest ABC News/Post poll shows a six point drop for the President and 52 percent disapproving of the President's handling of the economy.
