U.S. Socialist Maggie Phair Endorses Stewart Alexander for California Governor

Last week, U.S. socialist Maggie Phair announced her support and endorsement for Stewart Alexander as the next Governor of California. Maggie Phair has been a political advisor for Stewart Alexander since his run as a candidate for California lieutenant governor in 2006.
In 2007, Maggie Phair helped to thrust Stewart Alexander onto the national scene by supporting and advising him as the U.S. Vice Presidential candidate for Socialist Party USA; Maggie Phair was responsible for bringing the nomination of Alexander to the convention floor of SPUSA in St. Louis, Missouri, and most recently, has worked closely with his campaign in the 2010 California governor’s race.
During his campaign to become governor, Alexander has received endorsements from labor leaders Jack Gerson and Steve Zeltzer; Alexander has also has also received the endorsements from Socialist Party USA and Third Party Revolution.
Alexander recently outlined four key pillars in his campaign to become governor; defending education, defending labor, supporting same-sex marriage rights, and legalizing marijuana. Alexander says, “These are the issues that California voters want addressed and these are the issues that Republican front-runner Meg Whitman and Democrat Jerry Brown are trying to avoid.
Alexander is encouraging California voters to register with the Peace and Freedom Party and to search the party’s website at Campaign 2010. The PFP website provides extensive information about the PFP candidates and the party’s position on the ballot propositions.
